Hidden Secret of Formula One

To treat the lack of watching the Formula 1 series, it seems fun to answer this question. We will discuss the unique facts first, as for the ones I seriously add afterwards.
  • Have you ever thought how F1 drivers move the transmission in their car without a gear lever? The key lies in the steering wheel. Not only moving the transmission, the F1 car steering wheel has many buttons with their respective functions, including monitoring fuel and engine conditions. You can see some of the functions in the "all-in-one" steering wheel in this picture.
  • In addition, the steering wheel can be easily installed and removed. Even the F1 steering wheel is sometimes sold separately from the car itself. This is due to the limited space for racers in the car so that it is difficult to get out of the car without removing the steering wheel.
  • F1 drivers generally go to a pit stop to change tires and refuel (although sometimes mechanics also change some car configurations according to the situation the racer experiences during the race). It turns out that the strategy of using pit stops is very influential for the victory of the drivers. Regarding pit stops, the current record for the fastest pit stop is 1.82 seconds. This fastest pit stop was carried out by the mechanic of the Aston Martin RedBull Team when Max Verstappen headed for the pit stop on lap 21 at the race at the Interlagos circuit, Brazil in the 2019 F1 series. Compare this pit stop time with those of you who waited at least 2 to 5 minutes to fill up. petrol your car at the gas station (not to mention the queue hahaha).
  • Have you ever seen that the thickness of the front and rear tires of an F1 car is different? This too has a function. The F1 car engine is positioned behind and connected to the rear tire transmission. All power and engine torque are focused on the rear tires so that to maximize the power of the car and streamline its movement, it requires more grip on the rear tires. As for the front tire, it functions as a control wheel for the car. To smooth control of the car, the traction of the front tires can be reduced. This reduces the force required to turn the steering wheel. You can watch it here https://f1gp.stream/
